Job Overview

We are looking for a Senior OutSystems Developer to join high-profile enterprise delivery engagements. The role reports to the Solution Architect.

This is a hands-on, technically demanding position for someone who can take ownership of complex modules from design through to post go-live support, and who is comfortable operating inside a regulated, enterprise-grade environment. You will work closely with Solution Architects and Business Analysts to turn requirements into scalable, secure OutSystems applications, and you will engage directly with client stakeholders throughout.

It suits a developer who is already senior on the platform and wants to widen their scope, taking on mentorship of junior and intermediate developers while building capability in AI-enabled and agentic delivery, an area the practice is actively growing into.

Duties and Responsibilities

Application Design and Development

• Design, build and maintain enterprise applications on the OutSystems platform (O11 and ODC), following architectural and coding best practice.
• Take end-to-end ownership of assigned modules, from technical design through build, testing, deployment and post go-live support.
• Translate functional and technical requirements into scalable, maintainable low-code solutions.
• Troubleshoot and resolve performance, stability and defect issues across the application lifecycle.

Integration and Engineering Standards

• Integrate OutSystems applications with core enterprise systems, REST and SOAP APIs and third-party services.
• Apply secure coding practices appropriate to a regulated environment, including data protection and access control standards.
• Contribute to database design and performance optimisation within the platform.
• Participate in code reviews, upholding both internal and client development standards.

Team Contribution and Delivery

• Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior and intermediate OutSystems developers.
• Contribute to technical estimation, sprint planning and delivery risk identification.
• Work alongside Solution Architects and Business Analysts across the delivery lifecycle.
• Engage confidently and professionally with client stakeholders.

AI-Enabled Delivery

• Support Solution Architects on solution design for AI-enabled and agentic workflows built on OutSystems.

Minimum Requirements

• A minimum of 3 years dedicated to OutSystems development.
• 5 to 8 years of professional software development experience / background.
• Current OutSystems certification, Associate Reactive Developer as the minimum, covering both O11 and ODC.
• Depth of hands-on delivery experience on O11, together with practical working exposure to ODC.
• Demonstrated experience delivering OutSystems applications in enterprise or regulated environments.
• Strong understanding of OutSystems architecture, including Service Studio, Integration Studio and the O11 and ODC development lifecycle.
• Proven experience with REST and SOAP integrations, database design and performance optimisation within OutSystems.
• A traditional software development background, for example C#, .NET, SQL, JavaScript or React. This does not need to be current, but the grounding must be there.
• Solid grasp of software engineering fundamentals, covering data modelling, security, testing and CI/CD practices.
• Experience working within Agile or Scrum delivery teams.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage confidently with client stakeholders.
• Currently active in a hands-on development role.

Nice-To-Have

• Higher-level OutSystems certification, such as Professional Reactive Developer or Tech Lead.
• An understanding of AI and agentic integration patterns within OutSystems (for example ODC AI Agent Builder or LLM integrations), with the aptitude and interest to develop it further.
• Experience mentoring or leading small development teams.
• Delivery exposure within banking, financial services or telecommunications.
