Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Delivering the Cambridge Primary Curriculum to Grade 3 learners, ensuring alignment with the school's academic standards and outcomes.
- Planning, preparing, and delivering engaging, learner-centred lessons across core subjects, including English, Mathematics, Science, Social Studies, and Life Skills.
- Differentiating instruction to accommodate individual learning needs and abilities within a small-group setting.
- Creating and maintaining a positive, nurturing, and inclusive classroom environment that supports the emotional, social, and academic development of each learner.
- Designing and implementing continuous assessment strategies, including formal and informal assessments, to monitor and support learner progress.
- Providing timely, constructive feedback to learners and parents regarding academic performance and overall development.
- Integrating technology, creative arts, and inquiry-based learning approaches to promote critical thinking, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.
- Facilitating reading, literacy, and numeracy interventions for learners who require additional support.
- Maintaining up-to-date lesson plans, learner records, and assessment data in accordance with school policies and Cambridge assessment standards.
- Participating in curriculum planning, staff meetings, and professional development workshops to enhance teaching practices.
- Organising and participating in school events, parent meetings, excursions, and cultural activities that enrich the learning experience.
- Communicating regularly and professionally with parents and guardians, providing updates on academic progress, behaviour, and wellbeing.
- Promoting the school’s values, ethos, and disciplinary code, ensuring a respectful and disciplined learning environment.
- Collaborating with support staff, therapists, and other teachers to address the holistic development of each learner.
- Fostering a love of learning, curiosity, and global citizenship, aligned with the Cambridge International ethos.

Minimum Requirements
- Minimum of 3 years teaching experience in a Primary School environment, either in the public or private sector (Foundation Phase or Intermediate Phase).
- Completed Bachelor’s Degree in Education (B.Ed Foundation Phase / Intermediate Phase) or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification (e.g. PGCE for Foundation/Primary Phase).
- Fluent and articulate in English (spoken and written) as the medium of instruction is English.
- Sound knowledge of child development principles, learning theories, and age-appropriate teaching methodologies for Foundation Phase learners.
- Experience in differentiated teaching, supporting both remedial and extension activities in a small-class setting.
- Competent in integrating technology into the classroom for interactive, blended, and inquiry-based learning.
- Experience in designing and administering both formal and informal assessments, including progress reports and parent feedback.
- Ability to manage classroom dynamics and maintain discipline, promoting a respectful and nurturing learning environment.
- Passion for early childhood and primary education, with a creative, patient, and empathetic approach to learners.
- Strong organisational, administrative, and record-keeping skills, including lesson planning and assessment documentation.
- Willingness to actively participate in school activities, events, and extra-curricular programmes.
- Clear criminal record check (police clearance) and SACE registration or eligibility to register with SACE.
